What is our Mission? Our mission is to "Reach Youth 4 Christ." Midwinter Retreats are sponsored by the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, Council on Youth Ministry. Midwinter’s are 3-day retreats including spiritual renewal, awesome worship, inspiring speakers and a chance to meet new friends.

Look for a brand new "Midwinter Mission" coming in 2011. It will be a sixth Midwinter giving Sr. High students a chance to experience Midwinter in a whole new light by serving the homeless of San Antonio.

Midwinter 2011 Tentative Dates: (subject to change)

Overview of the Midwinter Retreat experience:

The Midwinter Plus includes Sr. High students  (9th to 12th grades) for an extended 4-day weekend. These held at the HEB Foundation site "Echo Valley." These weekends will have more worship, more teaching, and longer than the traditional Midwinter - but at the same price. They will encourage students to grow deeper in Christ and continue their faithful discipleship in serving God and the Church. And don't forget to bring your cowboy boots and western wear for the Sunday night Square Dance!

The Midwinter Classic is for Jr. High students (6th to 8th grade) who want to experience the traditional and exciting experience of a Midwinter. This retreat will be at Mt. Wesley and serve as an introductory weekend to Midwinters, who Jesus Christ is, and how to join the movement of God in the United Methodist Church.

The Midwinter Mix is very popular concept including both Jr. and Sr. High students on the same weekend. Small groups and rooming assignments will be separated by age group, but meals, recreation time and worship will be together. The "Mix" weekends will be at Mt. Wesley and will encourage all ages to grow together, building excitement and enthusiam to be who Christ is calling us to be.

The Midwinter Mission is a brand new opportunity for Sr. High students who desire to be intentional about serving God as well as growing in their faith. It will be hosted a local United Methodist Church in San Antonio, and will involve 4 awesome times of worship, and a day of service on Saturday with the homless of the city, and intentional exposure to poverty and how the Church can fight against it.
