Our mission is to "Reach Youth 4 Christ." Midwinter Retreats are sponsored by the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, Council on Youth Ministry. Midwinter’s are 3 to 4-day retreats including spiritual renewal, awesome worship, inspiring speakers and a chance to meet new friends. Over 1400 participants will come to MW this year. Mission & Purpose

Our mission is to "Reach Youth for Christ." Midwinter Retreats are sponsored by the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church Council on Youth Ministry. Midwinters are spiritual retreats which include renewal, awesome worship, inspiring speakers and a chance to meet new friends.
 
Cost, Scholarships & Registration
Cost is $110 for students 18 years of age and under, $80 for pre-approved Work Crew, and $60 for adult staff. Scholarships are available at the District or Conference offices or by contacting your local church pastor or youth leader. Registration deadline is 7 working days prior to start of camp. Check-In Times & Midwinter Plus
Check-in times for all the retreats begin at 7 PM on start date (dinner not provided) & end at noon (before lunch) on Sunday.  The one Midwinter Plus weekend is 4 days for Sr. High and end at noon on Monday.  Participants may leave early to return to work or school.
 
Age Requirement
Jr. High retreats include youths in 6th thru 8th grades. Sr. High retreats are for youths in 9th thru 12th grades. The Midwinter Mix weekends involves both Jr. and Sr. High, grades 6th thru 12th.
 
Steps for Staff & Work Crew
All staff (college age and adults) or Work Crew staff (16 years or older, limit 12 per retreat) are welcome to attend with students from their church. All who wish to serve must complete the 5 Steps on Reachingyouth.org: 1) complete a SWTC background check, 2) email the Camp Director, 3) take the Child Protection Training (offered on first night of retreat or online), 4) be a faithful disciple of Jesus, and 5) turn in a regular registration form. All Work Crew staff must complete a Letter of Agreement and be approved by a Camp Director (see emails above).
 
What To Bring & Medications Policy
Please bring bedding, personal toiletries, warm clothes, pennies for Youth Service Fund and a Bible. It is best not to bring iPods, food, jewelry, or money. (Although some bands will be selling merchandise.) All cell phones need to stay in vehicles and remain off during retreat.  Medications should be in their original container provided by the pharmacy.  All students will need to pick up their meds on the last day of camp. Leftover meds will be thrown away. 
 
 
 
What's New About Midwinter 2012?
Midwinters have never been bigger with over 1400 attendees. This year will include 6 retreats involving one Plus, two Classic,  two Mix weekends and one Midwinter Mission. Come bring a friend and be a part of one of the greatest weekends of your life!
 
Retreat Specifics
The Plus is a 4-day weekend at the same price and for Sr. High only. The Classics are an introductory weekend with one for Jr. High and one for Sr. High only. The Mix weekends includes both Jr. and Sr. High, and the Mission is a Sr. High inner city retreat experience filled with a full day of serving in San Antonio.
