Servant Team {What's It All About?}

  

The Servant Team (ST) consists of a group of high school and college age students, 16 to 19, (leaving their sophomore year in high school to their sophomore year in college) who serve as the summer youth event staff for the Southwest Texas Conference Council on Youth Ministries.
 
This year's Servant Team will be led by Interns Caitlin Teeple and Logan Talamas, and Chaplains Kelsey Smith and Brian Freeman. Servant Team is a self-sustaining ministry which helps ensure that our summer events are the best ever. Students raise $1500 in support to help cover camp costs and receive a small honorarium during the summer. 
 
Servant Team is a great chance to develop leadership skills and to grow as a Christian disciples during 6 weeks of intense student ministry, powerful worship, and unforgettable inner city ministry.
Servant Team members must commit to attending all summer dates below. 
 
Servant Team Dates 2012
1) Servant Team Pre Retreat - June 11-14, 12 / Marble Falls & Camp Eagle, Rock Springs TX
2) My Mission Mixed - June 17-21, 12 / Jr. and Sr. High, Austin TX (NWHills UMC Austin)
3) JAM Camp - June 24-28, 12 / Jr. High at Mt. Wesley, Kerrville TX
4) Beach Camp - July, 9-12, 12, Jr. and Sr. High, Port Aransas TX (Port Aransas TX)
5) Quest Camp - July 15-19, 12 / Sr. High at Mt. Wesley, Kerrville TX
6) Servant Team Post Retreat - July 20-22, 12 / Marble Falls TX 
 
Supporting the Servant Team is vital as each team member must raise $1500 in support. An Overview of the Servant Team
The Servant Team will be the core leadership team for SWTC summer youth events.
The Servant Team will gain experience in youth ministry, service and Bible study.
The Servant Team will grow spiritually as they help lead SWTC summer youth events.
The Servant Team will raise their support and receive a salary from the support raised.
The Servant Team will attend a pre- and a post- training retreat during the summer.
The Servant Team will commit to the Servant Team Covenant & Pledge.
The Servant Team will be accountable to the SWTC Covenant of Behavior.
The Servant Team will work under the supervision of the SWTC Director of Youth Ministries,the Summer Camp Directors and Deans, and two summer youth interns.
The Servant Team will commit to 6 weeks during June and July.
